Emily and the Beast

They were founded in July 2007 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Emily Peasgood & singer and guitarist Ryan Robson. Their aim was to master some of the greats of Blues with their own unique twist, jazz undertones and understated rock-a-billy blues alongside writing original material.

In a short period of time, Emily & The Beast have performed at The Old Neptune, The Harbour Café, The Brewery Bar at Whitstable’s East Quay, Orange Street in Canterbury and alongside Cathryn Craig and Brian Willoughby at the Faversham Folk Club. They are currently discussing a collaboration with local band Paul The Other One and they aim higher with the hopes of festivals in 2008-2009 and releasing an album.

Emily is currently studying harmonica under the tutelage of Brendan Power and the songs Emily & The Beast perform include: John Mayall, Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, Janis Joplin & Eva Cassidy, alongside original material.
