Tracey Stewart Fry
The Tracey Stewart-Fry band provide top quality live jazz for any event, weddings, parties, corporate functions, restaurants and bars. The band can be booked as a duo, with piano and vocals, or as a trio, quartet or five piece, with any combination of double bass, drums and saxophone. We play a mix of jazz, blues, soul, and popular standards with a laid back easy feel.
Tracey began singing at an early age and at 18 left her native Derbyshire to embark upon a 3 year music theatre training at The London Studio Centre, where she developed a particular love for the writers of the great American songbooks, Gershwin, Porter and Rogers and Hart to name a few. After leaving drama school she worked on many diverse projects including leading roles in Shakespeare and several appearances in pantomime. She toured with Abba Gold and understudied Marti Webb in the national tour of Evita, performing in such theatres as The Palace in Manchester, the Oxford Apollo and the Bristol Hippodrome. During this time she continued to sing with various bands including the Ray McVay orchestra and the band Chequers, as well as pursuing her own jazz gigs with a duo, trio and quartet. Tracey has trained with Ian Shaw, Barb Jungr, Trudi Kerr, Lee Gibson and Pete Churchill. She has recently had residencies at The Sola Bar in Sheffield, and sings regularly at the Michelin starred Walnut Club in Hathersage . She has entertained at more than 100 weddings and corporate functions, and in many restaurants and venues across the country.
