BIG FUNK CITY STORY is the tribute show to Rhythm & Beat. With the aid of the dancing talents of Pout UK, Big Funk Corporation charts the history of groove from the Sixties through to Modern day beats.

Chapter One, ADGROOVE, is a non stop segue of those unforgettable hits that made people pay extortionate prices to wear Jeans again. Featuring “I heard it through the Grapevine”, “Shaft” and fortunately not Nick Kamen’s simultaneous entrance and exit from the world of pop.

The next theme is THE RARITY OF GROOVE. Curtis Mayfeld, The Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang, The Jackson Sisters and The Commodores all make an entrance with hits like Move on Up, Fire, For the Love of Money, Jungle Boogie, I believe in Miracles and Brick House. There are dedicated segued medleys to James Brown and Stevie Wonder and before you can stop grooving a glitter ball drops from the ceiling and disco takes the fore.

DISCO DAZE includes those ubiquitous hits from Rose Royce, The Brothers Johnson,Earth Wind and Fire, Heat wave and another special set made up of the hits of The Jacksons that neatly slips into the era that fashion forgot.

Yes the Eighties are fully represented by SOULED OUT a collection of dance floor fillers from The Gap Bands “Outstanding”, The Fatback Bands “I found Loving” and Chaka Khans “Ain’t nobody” and “I feel for you”. By this time there’s no stopping the band as they launch into the final leg of the show, THE NINETIES AND BEYOND, it features Acid Jazz modern classics from Jamiraquoi, Incognito and The Brand New Heavies.

Even for those uninitiated to the dance floor this new show put together by the masters of funky vibe has something for everyone. Unless you’re super-glued to your chair.
