Working solo and working with other artistes and live musicians. Ian has also recently been invited by Frank Carson to perform with him in November 2008 at his charity show at the London Palladium

The final session of this popular showcase event began as compere Ian James strode out on stage and launched into compere spiel, without the prelude of the obligatory song. James was brisk and business -like, dressed all in black, and was soon introducing another man in black, this time a singer Compere James then re-appeared, this time wearing a bright red tie, and proved that he certainly can sing with a version of the recent Robbie Williams hit Make Me Pure. He certainly has something distinctive to offer in the vocal department and he worked hard to set the right atmosphere as compere.

I quite liked Ian James. We were informed that, like a large percentage of solo singers these days, James also performs some kind of tribute act. However, here we saw this personable and chatty entertainer performing as a cabaret solo singer, and it was nice to hear an entertainer who is armed with a nice line in patter and crowd approach.
